Whether it\u2019s the&nbsp;<em>Match of the Day Top 10 Ballon d\u2019Or Winners&nbsp;<\/em>or the&nbsp;<em>Top 10 things to do this week&nbsp;<\/em>or even the&nbsp;<em>Top 10 Lockdown Beauty Tips<\/em>&nbsp;(my personal favourite)!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I recently found a list of the best James Bond movies on&nbsp;<em>The Guardian<\/em>&nbsp;website and it started a bit of a debate in our \u2018virtual\u2019 office\u2026 After some discussion, I realised that it was very hard to come up with an overall ranking and even harder to decide on a definitive \u2018Top 10\u2019.&nbsp; So, after chatting to one of our stats gurus, I decided to settle the argument with a company-wide MaxDiff!&nbsp; I selected&nbsp;<em>The Guardian\u2019s<\/em>&nbsp;Top 10 (so my colleagues couldn\u2019t have a go at me) and then asked them to choose their&nbsp;<em>most<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>least<\/em>&nbsp;favourite movies, from a number of statistically designed selections.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, as many of you know, MaxDiff is a great technique as it\u2019s straightforward for the participant and provides really useful ratio data (and a measure of difference magnitudes) for the researcher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m really happy with the outcome of our \u2018Top 10\u2019 research!&nbsp; It provides a definitive 007 ranking and a relative difference in preference between the movies \u2013 but you may disagree?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"mailto: tdixon@jigsaw-research.co.uk\">Tim Dixon<\/a>, May 20<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m sure I\u2019m not the only one noticing an increasing number of \u2018Top 10s\u2019 in the media over the past few weeks.
